Fragments of the Tay 2023 is a community art initiative which reflects entanglements with the past, present and future. Artists Susie Dalton and Susie Johnston worked with Perthshire communities to bring together personal connections with the Tay and its tributaries through material engagements. The artists and local participants worked with found objects, clay and detritus, as well as their own memories, stories, and ways of knowing in a series of workshops. Three sculptures are being created for the project. One is to be sited in the Pitlochry Festival Theatre Garden, one at Birnam Arts, and the third at The Scottish Crannog Centre. This project celebrates our relationships and connections over time with the Tay. The installation of the works is scheduled for September 2023.
